The P5W DH Deluxe HowTo
This HowTo attempts to describe all aspects of the Linux compatibility of an Asus P5W DH Deluxe mainboard and a Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU.

Keep in mind that most of this stuff was written with kernel 2.6.18-mm1 in mind =)

Update 20070410: Have a look at the User-Feedback page for up-to-date infromation about this board

The Hardware:

SATA All SATA ports are working perfectly fine in AHCI mode.
IDE The ICH7 IDE port works just fine, but the second IDE controller is causing problems
PCI Express The only PCIe device I own is an nvidia graphics cards, which works perfectly fine.
Hardware Monitoring / lm-sensors Works perfectly, but currently needs some patches.
Onboard WLAN Driver does not compile with any recent kernel.
Onboard LAN Works but has problems...
Onboard Sound Works fine with the Intel HDA Alsa driver.
Remote Control Works fine with licrd, but currently needs some patches.

The Software:

I'm currently running kernel 2.6.19-rc3 with coretemp patches (see lm-sensors mailing list) applied.

Together with BIOS 1503, the Asus P5W DH Deluxe provides an execellent hardware base (if you ignore the cursed sky2 NICs).
