The Samsung R55 Guide

This guide attempts to describe the installation, setup and use of a Samsung R55 notebook under Linux, with a special eye on Debian.

The Hardware:

Onboard Graphics	Screen and NVIDIA graphics card work perfectly fine. [read more]
Onboard WLAN	The setup requires quite some effort but the card is fully supported in the end. [read more]
Onboard LAN	It Just Works (TM) [read more]
Onboard Sound	Works fine with the Intel HDA Alsa driver. Requires special kernel parameter! [read more]
Onboard DVB-T	The MT2266 tuner is currently unsupported. [read more]
Hardware Monitoring / lm-sensors	Haven't checked, yet.
BIOS & ACPI	Suspend-to-ram works with NVIDIA driver. I didn't test this alot tho. [read more]
DVD / CD Burning	No problems so far.
